Accessing your files as a folder on your computer

You have two folders that are remotely accessible.
For the purpose of remote access they are labeled as follows:

1) My Documents = firstinitiallastname
2) Your individual teacher folder that is in Teacher Shared Docs = lastname

For example: Jane Doe's My Documents folder will be named "jdoe".
Her teacher folder will be named "doe". In both cases they are all lower case.

There is an exception to this for Moneta and Jeanne Mack.
These two teacher docs folders will be labeled mackm and mackj.

Step 12)
To access these files again after closing the folder, open "My Network Places" and you will see your new shortcut.

In Windows Vista the shortcut will be in Computer, not Network Places.

You can drag folders or files from your computer or other storage media attached to your computer and drop them onto the Web Folder. You can also drag folders or files from the Web Folder onto your computer.

Note: You will always be prompted for your user name and password when opening files directly from your remote folder. This isn't a big deal if you are only working on one or two documents, but it can quickly become inconvenient if you are frequently opening and closing many documents. To work around this you can copy files from your remote folder to your computer, work on them, make any changes you need, and copy them back to your remote folder.
